ADHCE Student Project Scholarships support student projects that promote the ADHCE Core Competencies on Disability for Health Care Education and advance disability-inclusive health professions education.

Scholarship Project

Creating a Guide for Male Genitourinary Exams for Patients with Disabilities

Isaac's scholarship project focused on creating a guide for male genitourinary examinations for patients with disabilities.

Project Focus

The project supports disability-inclusive clinical education by addressing the needs of patients with disabilities within an important area of physical assessment and health care.

Rush Medical College

Scholarship Project

Disability-Focused Curricular Materials & Pilot Simulation

Olivia Lenzo and Harriet Fisher received an ADHCE scholarship to develop curricular materials and a pilot simulation experience at Rush University.

Project Focus

The project extends disability-related learning through both curricular development and simulation-based education for health professions learners.

Scholarship Project

Extending the ADEPT-CARE Program

Lydia's scholarship project supported the extension of ADEPT-CARE, a teaching tool designed to prepare medical students and residents to provide more comprehensive health care for patients with disabilities.

Educational Goals

ADEPT-CARE prepares learners to take a comprehensive patient history, perform a comprehensive physical examination for a patient with a disability, and consider disability-related health care needs within the context of a medical visit.
