TOPIC:

From Awareness to Action:

Evaluating Faculty Preparedness to Support

Neurodiverse Students Across Disciplines

Join us  Thursday Oct 2nd 11:30-12:30 EST for a free ADHCE.org Zoom presentation. Registration and attendance are free but require registration on this page (ADHCE.org members are automatically registered). NOTE: A YouTube recording for this presentation is available for those unable to attend on this date. Contact ADHCE.org@gmail.com to make this request.

SUMMARY:

Roughly 20% of the population is neurodiverse, yet faculty preparedness to teach neurodiverse students remains largely unexamined across many health professions. In this interprofessional presentation, we will share findings from our assessment of nursing faculty knowledge and attitudes regarding neurodiverse learners. Attendees will be introduced to a practical tool for evaluating faculty preparedness within their own disciplines. Additionally, we will explore evidence-based strategies for designing inclusive instruction that can be applied across disciplines to better support neurodiverse students in health professions education.
