Title: Creating Enabling Communication, Disability Inclusive Health Care Services

Summary: Dr. O’Halloran provides a brief overview of a series of studies that explore strategies to support communication between health professionals and patients with communication-related disabilities due to a variety of conditions. Further, how communication impairments present other challenges in hospital settings and how the hospital environment, including systems, services and policies, are critical to enabling patient-provider communication.
